So, most of us gathered in Bruce Rock on the Friday evening, coming from all directions – one came from Queensland, another from Victoria, and others from around the state as well as those few from BK itself. Any fears of fizzling were quickly put to rest when 20 of us rocked up to the Bruce Rock District Club
We were especially delighted that our Grade 1 teacher, Miss (Janet) McNaughton, made an appearance. What an impressive woman who was only 19 years old when she started teaching Grade 1 at Bruce Rock. Our mob was definitely in good hands back in the day.
And our high school mathematics and science teacher, Tony Martin, also made another appearance and told some interesting yarns about the school, teachers, teaching and students over the years.
Although the meal service went on a little longer than
anticipated, it didn’t matter because there was plenty to yak about – and the
noise level seemed to increase in direct proportion to the number of beverages
consumed.
